Apple iPhone is one of the widely used and one of the most
popular smartphone all over the world and also these phones come with handsfree
called Apple EarPods these were newly designed when the iPhone 5 came out these
earphones are likely to be the most common earphones all over the world and
everybody has them and uses them all day.

But after using it a lot one of the ear piece might stop
working which makes people go crazy as they are only left with one earpiece and
they can’t afford to buy a new one because they are fairly expensive for what
they offer and most of the times people try to fix themselves by stretching
pulling and fiddling with wires and end up destroying their EarPods and sometimes
people think that the sound not coming issue is related with the microphone and
volume control panel and as a result they try to fiddle with that and end up
with some wrecked EarPods.
So before doing anything which can make your EarPods die
forever and you won’t be able to listen even to that one working earpiece I
would suggest you not to do any of the above mentioned stuff and must try this
on your faulty EarPods or even if you have a separate one the one which had the
same problem before.
So what happens is basically on excessive use of EarPods the
speaker grills on the actual earpiece get blocked by our ear wax and daily dust
and gunk which result in blocking the sound and hence you can’t hear anything
from them.
Fix:
Last night I myself faced this issue and I was worried that
I would damage mine and then I thought to try an experiment and what I did was
I got myself an old spare toothbrush and just brush it on the grills of the
EarPods and viola this will remove the ear wax and gunk collected on the
speaker grills and the flow of sound will resume like they were new you can
also this with anything having medium bristles but do not try it with something
sharp or hard as it might scratch or damage the grills and it will affect the
sound quality also I would like to suggest you guys to clean them with this
method time to time abd it literally takes no more than 1 minute or so and you
get yourself loud clear EarPods just like you got them new from the Apple Store
and if this doesn’t work then surely you are out of luck and the wires inside
that white insulation might have broken and you are pretty much out of luck but
if you are a tech person and work around with wires and soldering you can just
fix this by finding your old earphones and use their wire by soldering although
sound might go bad a little bit but I would say something is better than
nothing.
Hope it helps !
